The cross-country trip that bacon bartered
We proved the value of Oscar Mayer bacon by sending a stand-up comedian on a cross-country trip from New York to LA—without any cash or credit cards.

He had a Twitter handle, a camera crew, and 3,000 packages of bacon in a refrigerated trailer attached to his pickup truck, to barter for literally everything he needed on his journey: gas, lodging, food (other than bacon), everything.

He not only survived the long drive, he became a bacon celebrity along the way, meeting real celebrities, reporters, talk show hosts, podcasters, and hundreds of ordinary people offering to help him in exchange for some bacon.
